Remove Shortcut Virus From Pen Drive & SD Card

There are two different methods available to remove this virus, First is using CMD and secondary is using a Software. Before going though a method, I highly recommend you to First Scan the infected storage with an antivirus, and then go for the below methods. If your USB is bootable then it may change to normal.

Using command prompt

Follow the steps below to remove shortcut virus using command prompt (CMD):

1. Run Command prompt as Administrator. (Windows key + R > Type CMD & press ENTER, or search CMD > Right click to CMD and Select “Run as Administrator” or right click over Start button and select command prompt (Admin))
   
2. Connect your infected USB storage (Pen drive, SD card, etc.) with your Computer.
3. Scan USB with an antivirus program (Not compulsory but its effective) and if the antivirus found some virus or threats, so delete it.
4. Type the following command in Command prompt:  attrib -h -r -s /s /d X:\*.*, (Where, X is the USB drive letter) and press Enter. (For example: If your drive letter is D, then the command is attrib -h -r -s /s /d D:\*.*)
   
5. Copy all data from USB flash drive to your computer.
6. Format the USB drive.
7. And, copy all data back to the USB flash drive.

Now all Shortcut files are fixed and working as normal files. The reason why I suggest you to format the USB is because there was some unknown files automatically generate as you use the command. Know more about Attrib command.

       Any text editor that you have will be enough to create basic subtitles. How To Clean your RAM using Notepad

                   Many friends of me ask where can I download a software which can keep my RAM free? And I found these software are nothing but using some lines of code which can be implemented by using notepad or any editor tool. So if any one does not have any software, you can use it by doing the following things which I am going to mention.

1) Open Notepad (Start > Run > Notepad)

2) Type FreeMem=Space(10240000000)

3) You can change the value 1024 with any other value according to your RAM size (e.g: 512 if you have 512Mb of Memory)

4) Save it as “L2C.VBS”

5) If you want to clean your RAM then Run the file you created in step 4.

Done!

After this final step your RAM will be free........

Clear Recent Documents Windows 7 & 8

         In Windows 7 and 8, you won’t see any list of recent documents by default in the Start Menu; however, it does still exist. If you right-click on the Start Menu, choose Properties, click on the Start Menu tab and then click on Customize, you’ll see a checkbox for Recent Itemstowards the bottom.

If that is checked, then you will see the recent documents in the Start Menu like shown below:

                            

How to Create Keyboard Shortcuts to open programs

     You can create keyboard shortcuts to open programs. Opening programs this way is often simpler than opening them using your mouse or other pointing device. Before you get started, you need to create a shortcut for the program to which you want to assign a keyboard shortcut. To do this, open the folder that contains the program, right-click the program's executable file, and then click Create Shortcut. For more information about creating shortcuts to programs, see Create or delete a shortcut.

1. Locate the shortcut to the program that you want to create a keyboard shortcut for.
2. Right-click the shortcut, and then click Properties.
3. In the Shortcut Properties dialog box, click the Shortcut tab.
4. Click in the Shortcut key box, press the key on your keyboard that you want to use in combination with Ctrl+Alt (keyboard shortcuts automatically start with Ctrl+Alt), and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
   You can now use this keyboard shortcut to open the program.

• The word None appears in the Shortcut key box until you press a key; then it's replaced with Ctrl+Alt+the key that you pressed.

• The new shortcut might not work for programs that have their own keyboard shortcuts.

• You cannot use the Esc, Enter, Tab, Spacebar, PrtScn, Shift, or Backspace keys to create a keyboard shortcut.

• You can also create keyboard shortcuts to open files and folders.

How to Hide or Unhide Hard Disk Partition in Windows 7

      Hiding a partition or volume from my computer or explorer is preventing thatpartition from displaying, but it doesn't mean erasing any data or deleting the volume. Windows OS Disk management system allows hiding drives except the System drive where the OS is installed and the System reserved volume. So, anyone who has administrative privilege or the administrator of the Windows machine can do this task. And the basic trick is, without any drive letter (Ex: C:, D:, E: etc.) Windows OS doesn't recognize any drive or partition and here we are going to remove that letter temporally.

How to hide a drive: 

     1. Click right mouse on the computer and select Manage. Select the disk management under storage from the left pane. Or, you can also get the Disk management typing diskmgmt.msc in the run and pressing enter.

How to create a Password Protected Folder in Windows 7

          This tutorial will guide you through the steps required to create a locked folder in Windows 7 – without installing any additional 3rd party software.

      9/01/16  Update: although the screenshots will be different, the method outlined in this tutorial to create a password protected folder does work in Windows 8.

1.       Create a new folder and name it whatever you would like.

2.      Open the folder, right-click on a blank area in it, then select New -> Text Document from the pop-up menu.

Add a Videos Link to the Start Menu

           The Windows 7 Start Menu includes links to your Pictures and Music folders, but not to your Videos 
folder. If you watch a lot of videos and want a link to them on your Start Menu, here's what you can do:

1. Right-click the Start button and select Properties.
2. On the screen that appears, go to the Start Menu tab and click Customize.
3. In the dialog box that appears, scroll to the bottom, look for the Videos section, select "Display as a link," and click OK and then OK again.

      If you'd prefer that Videos display as a menu, with links to files and submenus, instead select "Display as a menu."

From here the real work starts,you have to type list diskas follows

you can type list disk it will do, the reason is to list out all the disks those are curently attached to your pc including the hard disk and removable disk
here your disk will be also listed ,search for your disk, to do this search under free or size

if your disk is of 8GB it wil be listed as 8x1024=8192MB and like wise
now type
select disk 1 here the number one refers to your disk number you have to type your volume no. means if your volume is listed as Disk 2 then type select disk 2 and likewise now press enter key
